TERMS AND CONDITIONS Student, Educator and Institutional Platform Terms
Version / effective date
1.0 / 1 July 2026
These Terms govern access to and use of Veri-AQ, an academic quality-assurance, verification, writing-support, learningsupport and educator/institutional review platform operated by PARAMOUNT ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS (PTY) LTD.
Veri-AQ may provide plagiarism and similarity analysis, AI-writing indicators, grammar and spelling review, assignment/rubric requirement checking, citation generation, citation/reference validation, source-validity and fabricated-reference review, writing-quality and structure analysis, assignment-readiness scoring, approximate marks, editable feedback, study/exam-preparation tools, multilingual and translation functionality, classes and rosters, cross-student similarity, class analytics, student-support indicators, improvement reports, report generation, moderation and academic-integrity case-management workflows. Features vary by plan, account type, institution, jurisdiction and product release.
Veri-AQ is a decision-support and educational-support platform. It is not an academic institution, examination authority, assessor, disciplinary tribunal, medical service or diagnostic service. AI-content indicators are not proof of AI use. Similarity results are not proof of plagiarism. Reference warnings are not automatically proof of fabrication or misconduct. Approximate marks are not official marks. Student-support indicators are not diagnoses. Readiness scores are not guarantees of academic performance. Where an outcome may significantly affect a person, appropriate human review and contextual consideration must occur.
Users must use Veri-AQ to review, verify, improve and understand academic work, not to facilitate academic fraud or evade institutional requirements. Users may not impersonate another person, submit another person’s work as their own, fabricate sources or research, disguise plagiarism, bypass integrity controls, unlawfully obtain confidential assessments, manipulate detection systems, or use another student’s work without authority.
Educators and institutions must not use an AI score, similarity percentage, approximate mark, source-validity result, student-support indicator or other automated output as the sole basis for disciplinary action, failure, exclusion or another substantial adverse academic decision. Institutions remain responsible for their own academic policies, authorised decision-makers, review processes and sanctions.
Cross-student similarity may only be used for legitimate educational, academic-quality or integrity purposes by authorised users. Veri-AQ will not automatically place every uploaded assignment into a global or cross-institution plagiarism repository merely because it was uploaded for analysis. Institution repositories, where enabled, require defined purpose, access, notice, retention and deletion/exit rules.
Institutional and educator functionality may include classes, cohorts, rosters, assignment workflows, student submissions, class analytics, support indicators and reporting. Educators and institutions must have lawful authority to provide and use student information. Institutional account permissions and tenant access must be limited to legitimate educational or administrative needs.
Citation styles and institutional requirements vary. Users must check institution-specific rules before submission. An inability to verify a source does not automatically mean the source is fabricated. A source may be unpublished, restricted, paywalled, obscure, newly published, incorrectly entered or temporarily unavailable. Translation and multilingual outputs may contain linguistic, contextual or terminology errors and should be reviewed before important academic use.
Users must provide accurate account information and protect login credentials. Unauthorised account sharing, impersonation, bypassing usage limits and attempts to access another user or institution are prohibited. Unless an approved under-18 framework is activated, self-service accounts are restricted to persons aged 18 or older. Under-18 access may occur only through an approved guardian/competent-person or institutional arrangement.
Veri-AQ may offer free, paid, educator, institutional, trial and promotional plans. Material plan features, price and billing interval are displayed before purchase. Unless expressly sold as once-off access, paid subscriptions may automatically renew at the applicable interval until cancelled.
Users may cancel an automatically renewing subscription using the cancellation method provided by Veri-AQ. Cancellation stops the next automatic renewal. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, paid access ordinarily continues until the end of the already-paid billing period and then expires without renewal.
Subject to mandatory legal rights, refunds are ordinarily provided only where the paid Veri-AQ service is materially nonfunctional due to a fault attributable to Veri-AQ and the affected service cannot reasonably be restored. A refund is not ordinarily due merely because a user changes their mind, does not use the service, cancels after payment, forgets to cancel before renewal, disagrees with an automated result, receives a different result from another platform, or receives an academic result different from a Veri-AQ estimate. Where reasonably possible, Veri-AQ must first be given an opportunity to investigate and correct a technical problem.
Veri-AQ is primarily a digital service. Subscription entitlements, dashboards, analysis tools and reports are delivered electronically after successful payment or authorised institutional provisioning. No physical delivery applies unless a physical product is separately offered.
Users retain ownership of their original assignments, essays, research, rubrics, reference lists and other submitted material. Uploading material grants Veri-AQ only the limited rights necessary to process the material for the selected services, security, authorised institutional functionality, abuse prevention and legal obligations.
Raw user assignments, prompts, reports and user histories are not intended to be used for general AI-model training by default. Any future materially different training or research use requires separate legal assessment, transparency and any consent or safeguards required by law.
Personal information is processed according to the Veri-AQ Privacy Notice and applicable data-protection law. Academic documents may contain sensitive information and users should remove unnecessary personal information before upload. Retention periods vary by record category. The implementation baseline is short-lived temporary processing files, default raw-upload deletion approximately 30 days after report generation (subject to approved institutional rules), controlled report retention, risk-based security-log retention, lawful billing retention and backup expiry through the documented backup lifecycle. Eligible users may use available deletion controls or submit privacy requests. Lawful retention exceptions may apply.
For direct student accounts, Veri-AQ ordinarily determines the purposes and means of core account, upload, analysis, report, billing, support and security processing. For institution-required workflows, an institution may be the responsible party and Veri-AQ may act as an operator for institution-controlled processing. The applicable institutional agreement and data-processing schedule govern the role split.
Veri-AQ may use external payment processors and does not intend to store complete card numbers, CVV/CVC values, online-banking passwords, PINs or one-time banking passwords in its application systems or ordinary logs.
Veri-AQ and its licensors retain rights in the software, interfaces, databases, proprietary workflows, analysis systems, algorithms, scoring methodologies, reporting structures, trademarks, brand assets, documentation and original platform content. User ownership of submitted academic work remains unaffected.
Veri-AQ aims to provide reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, upgrades, security measures, hosting failures, vendor failures, network problems and events beyond reasonable control may cause interruptions. Features may be added, improved, renamed, restructured or discontinued. Material changes affecting paid services will be handled subject to applicable law and contract.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Veri-AQ is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from reliance on an automated academic indicator, approximate mark, similarity result, source assessment, readiness score, grammar analysis or writing recommendation. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Veri-AQ may restrict, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of fraud, security threats, unauthorised access, deliberate platform abuse, serious academic-fraud facilitation, unlawful activity, payment fraud or a material/repeated breach of these Terms.
Acceptance of these Terms is not automatically consent to all direct marketing. Service communications and marketing communications are managed separately where required. Optional cookies and analytics are governed by the Cookie and Tracking Notice.
framework.
Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit a right that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a provision conflicts with a mandatory legal protection, the mandatory provision prevails to the extent of the conflict.
Veri-AQ may update these Terms for legal, security, product, vendor, jurisdictional or subscription changes. Material changes will be managed in accordance with applicable law. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply to the extent legally permissible. For individual users, the agreement may include these Terms, Privacy Notice, Cookie Notice, applicable subscription description and expressly incorporated policies. Institutional customers may also be subject to an Institution Agreement, DPA and service/security schedules.
